The University of Colorado Boulder Police Department’s (CUPD) Wellness Team, started in 2014 as a way to support the overall health and wellbeing of university police officers, now embodies CUPD’s mission to be a leader in inclusive, engaging community policing. CUPD’s Wellness Team is extending open invitations to campus community members to play, reduce stress and get to know those who work to keep campus safe and secure.

CUPD has already shared some of its Wellness Wednesday activities with the wider university community, including a 3.2-mile walk around campus that took place in mid-October, and lessons in the sport of cricket, which morphed into a , as well as a way for international community members to get a taste of home.

“It’s always important for public safety officials to focus on wellness. Due to the stressful nature and importance of our jobs, finding ways to increase focus, calm and approach our responsibilities as our best selves is key. We are excited to invite the campus community to join some of these activities,” said Assistant Vice Chancellor for Public Safety and Chief of Police, Doreen Jokerst.
