Christina Peete, a second year MA-SLP student, has been awarded the 2022-23 American Association of University Women (AAUW) Career Development Grant. This award will provide Christina with financial support to attend conventions and training seminars essential to her professional development and future academic goals.
“Wait, is that my name listed as a recipient? This is incredible!” said Peete. “I can now worry less about how I will financially get through my program and focus more on how my education will provide me with the tools to become an exceptional clinician." Christina's current goals include pursuing a second master’s degree in Psychology, obtaining her Ph.D. in Speech Language Pathology. Her ultimate professional goal includes working as a director managing other speech language pathologists in the VA hospital setting.
Thanks to this grant from AAUW. I'm getting a head start on my journey toward accomplishing my academic goals and career aspirations.
The entire SLHS department is very proud of Christina and her accomplishments. Congratulations Christina!
