Spring Cleanup Efforts Expand in Lafayette

Public Achievement students to host trail cleanup prior to city's residential program

It's spring cleanup season once again in Lafayette, and this year residents will have a couple of options to help beautify the city.

On Wednesday, April 23, Centaurus High School students will host a trail cleanup program on portions of the Coal Creek Trail impacted by the September flood. The work day will be from 9 a.m. to noon and will be led by members of the Centaurus student body who have the morning off from classes. The effort will focus on a section of trail between Empire Road and U.S. 287. Members of the public are invited to attend and are asked to bring their own work gloves. Work begins at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the trailhead on Elysian Field Drive in Lafayette, south of Centaurus.
