Late-night Buff Bus service on Will Vill route Nancy Portner Fri, 11/08/2024 - 13:05

CU Boulder Transportation Services has finalized a contract with Via Mobility to provide late-night service on the Will Vill route.

Starting immediately, Via buses will operate from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m. every Thursday, Friday and Saturday when campus is open. The service will follow the Will Vill route and stops, with buses coming every 12–15 minutes. The last bus leaves Will Vill at 1 a.m. for the last loop through campus.

Look out for the all-black Via buses and enjoy the same great service expected from the Buff Bus!

Construction of the Colorado Highway 119 Safety, Mobility and Bikeway Improvements Project has started and will be ongoing through 2027. Efforts are underway to mitigate impacts and expand transportation options during the project, but your usual travel route may be impacted by construction, traffic delays and increased congestion throughout the project. Guardian is a mobile safey application produced by Rave Mobile Safety. Guardian provides the user:

A new method to receive CU Boulder Alerts
Access to crisis support phone numbers
A safety timer allowing friends and family to monitor the user and call for help as needed
Access to safety resource websites
Quick access to call CU Boulder Police in non-emergency situations

Guardian is available at the App Store or Google Play. Simply search for “Rave Guardian” and download the app to your mobile device. Then follow the instructions to complete the setup.

Vanpool for Free!

Are you a front line service employee at CU Boulder? If so, you may be able to ride free (for a limited time) if you start a new vanpool, or join an exisiting vanpool. Thanks to the Boulder Commuter Connections Program*, and a grant managed by Boulder Transportation Connections. This is a grant-funded program and funding levels are subject to change.

Eligible vanpoolers must be either CU Frontline Service Employees (FLSE) or demonstrate eligibility levels per program guidelines. (low-income, contract, alternative shift, or essential workers in Boulder.) For specific details visit: https://bouldertc.org/employer-resources/commuter-connections

What is vanpooling?

5 or more employees share a van
The group must have at least 2 drivers, and one coordinator.
The vanpool members choose the route and schedule for the van
The costs for the van, maintenance, gas, and parking are included in monthly fees

Ready to start a van? If you have 5 or more people interested, please collect the names, emails, and phone numbers for each person and email the list to buffscommute@colorado.edu and we will follow up with next steps.

*Boulder Commuter Connections Program (BCCP), provides transportation assistance for low-income, contract, alternative shift, and essential workers in Boulder. This program provides subsidies for individuals who qualify for the program and commit to using one of several sustainable transportation modes including vanpool, carpool, transit/bus and bicycling to work.

Your Buff OneCard ID is now your transit pass

Starting on September 1, the Buff OneCard ID will be used as a transit pass for all enrolled CU students and eligible benefited employees. CU is no longer issuing CollegePasses or EcoPasses. If you have further questions or encounter problems with your card, contact buspass@colorado.edu

Your Buff OneCard gives you access to RTD bus and rail routes, including routes to Denver International Airport.
