The Community team promotes activities that are a break from the program requirements of PLC. The class coordinators have the paramount responsibility to build, promote, and encourage the community that defines PLC.
All Class Coordinators have four primary roles among others: 1) Sending updates/emails/GroupMe to their cohort every week, 2) planning and running Senior Retreat and First-Year Orientation, 3) planning the other PLC annual events with other coordinators - Fall Fest, Fall Gratitude Dinner, Talent Show, PLC Prom, Senior Send-Off, 4) planning informal cohort get-togethers that increase bonding and connectivity in and between the cohorts - intramural teams, Fiske Planetarium shows, dinners, etc. You must be a master of organization and a master of timely communication to be a class coordinator. You will need to meet with the class coordinator team weekly, attend the student staff meeting on Tuesday mornings, and meet with the Community Team each week. You will have a heavy workload - both in terms of tactics and time investment. Pay Rate = $3,000/Academic Year
Fourth Year Coordinator
The major events for seniors are the Senior Retreat at Camp Lake Tumblesome in the fall and Senior Send-Off which celebrates graduating PLC seniors. Event planning, attention to detail, and budgeting are all needed for this part of the role. The Senior Class Coordinator works with other Community Team members to plan community events for all cohorts. Working in teams and supporting other staff members’ projects is a significant part of this role. In addition to these, the senior CC is responsible for sending updates/emails to their class, attending staff meetings, and holding office hours.
Third Year Class Coordinator
The Third Year Class Coordinator has the primary role of planning and executing the First Year orientation in tandem with the Second Year Class Coordinator. The Third Year Class Coordinator also is in charge of planning and facilitating the PLC Pen Pal Program for all third-year students. Many juniors study abroad during their third year. To stay connected and hear about all the cool things happening worldwide, the PLC Pen Pal Program pairs students on campus with PLC students abroad. Postcards will decorate the student staff office.
Second Year Class Coordinator
The Second Year Class Coordinator has the primary role of planning and executing the First Year orientation in tandem with the Third Year Class Coordinator.
First Year Class Coordinator
First Year Class Coordinators are chosen from a pool of interested applicants after First Year orientation. Historically, two students have been chosen. First Year Class Coordinators are primarily responsible for encouraging the new PLC class to engage and participate in PLC community events.

- A willing support staff member for many PLC events
The primary objectives of the position are:
- Develop opportunities for PLCers to connect and participate in PLC co-curricular events
- Collaborate with other student staff members in implementing PLC community programs and events that may include: First Year Orientation, Interview Days, Spring Huddle.
