Five students in the Quantum Scholars program have been awarded a scholarship in honor of Jennifer Turner-Valle, an alumna of CU Boulder Physics. The named scholarships are a tribute to Dr. Turner-Valle who passed away in 2023.

Andrea Ghez, recipient of the 2020 Nobel Prize in physics, will give the 53rd George Gamow Memorial Lecture March 5 at the University of Colorado Boulder.

The Quantum Scholars Program has received a big boost in the form of a matching gift from SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics. SPIE has committed to matching $100,000 in external gifts to the program over the next two academic years.

The CU Boulder Society of Physics Â鶹ÒùÔº chapter was awarded a 2022-2023 Distinguished Chapter Award from the National Society of Physics Â鶹ÒùÔº organization. The award recognizes chapters for efforts including outreach, participation in community service, social events, interactions with alumni, and involvement in SPS programs.
