From Vice Chancellor Mull: The value of community

Hi Buff families,听听听

The leaves are nearly gone and we have experienced our first snowfall in the Boulder area, signaling seasonal transitions over the coming months. Fall break is just around the corner鈥攁 week that provides our Buffs with some well-deserved time off.听听

Between current events close to home and across the world, this semester, at times, has felt tumultuous and community could not be more important. During times like these, staying connected to those we are close with is more important than ever. I am a mother and every day I am reminded the importance of my community near and far. I am a prime example of 鈥渋t takes a village鈥 and cannot convey enough how much I would like for you and your student to see CU Boulder as part of that village. Please know that the Division of Student Affairs are here for you and your student. We are proud to create and maintain spaces on campus where students feel like they belong and can find connection. Staff are also regularly reaching out and providing ways to help our students grow and develop community, as we know recent events can have an influence on our students.听

I hope you get the chance to talk or be with your student over fall break and check in on how they are doing. Time with family can have a great recharging effect and reaffirm how they are an important aspect of our community. After fall break and with the end of the semester in sight, there will be many opportunities for your student to access continuous support on campus and gather with their peers.听听

Take care, Buff families. I am sending you my best and wishing you a happy fall break.听听听听
