A medical tool to introduce and extract a deformable suturing needle for laparoscopic surgery.
The small port diameter used in minimally invasive pediatric operations negatively impacts the size of needle profiles used in surgery. Our team collaborated with Children鈥檚 Hospital to design a novel suturing needle and an associated introducer that straightens the needle upon entering and exiting the body, allowing use of small ports for better surgical outcomes without loss of functionality.
