“Exploring Intersectionality and Political Climates: Leadership Dynamics of Colorado State Legislators” - The purpose of this project is to examine Colorado Latina political leadership across time, interrogating the dynamics of their intersectional identities in the context of social movements and shifting political environments. This research is relevant as Latinas are taking on more visible leadership roles within political office and in social movements, but still face many obstacles that hinder their full representation. With this project, we will work to highlight and understand this often overlooked group. The work done will provide an opportunity to educate others on the character and importance of diverse leadership, and give hope to future minority leaders.
