The Department is excited to recognize LING MA student Allen Hsiao for winning a Center for Humanities and Arts (CHA) summer fellowship to complete work on his MA thesis, 鈥淪emantics and Syntax in Polysemous Denominal Verbs: A Corpus-based Study鈥. The study looks at denominal verbs that span one or more of the classic 鈥楥lark and Clark鈥 semantic classes (e.g., agent, result, locatum) by investigating effects of both preemption and conventionality.聽
Congratulations, Allen!
