What inspired you to pursue a law degree?Ìý

AH: After I finished undergrad, I had no idea what I wanted to do but knew I wanted to feel like I was making a difference. I had a bit of a quarter-life crisis regarding what I wanted to do with my life and after several months of contemplation, I discovered the legal world. I began working for a criminal defense attorney and fell in love with the multiple layers and dimensions of the job. I knew after the first week on the job I wanted to apply for law school.Ìý

What are some of your hobbies outside of work and school?Ìý

AH: I love being active in any capacity, so I'm really excited to get into hiking now that I'm out here. I also love playing sand volleyball and doing anything with my dog Frankie. He hates physical activity but I'm hoping the Colorado air can change his mind. Outside of that, I enjoy reading, cooking, and having a game night with some friends. And on Sundays in the fall, you will find me with my Bengals jersey on being a menace to anyone who disagrees that Joe Burrow is the best QB in the league.ÌýÌý

What kind of work have you been doing since graduating in 2022?ÌýÌý

AH: My most recent career was working for a small criminal defense firm where we specialized in DUIs and sex crimes. Working on these types of cases was mentally and emotionally difficult but I'm grateful for the experience because it exposed me to the harsh realities of our criminal justice system.ÌýÌý

Why did you choose Colorado Law?Ìý

AH:Ìý When I began applying to schools, Colorado Law was at the top of my list. After doing a few law school visits it was clear to me that this program is a community that wants everyone to succeed and will do its best to reach that goal. It also doesn't hurt that the mountain view beats out the Ohio River any day.ÌýÌý

What are you most excited about this upcoming school year?Ìý

AH: I'm looking forward to the challenge of law school and pushing myself to think differently. I'm also excited to finally meet all my classmates and begin this next big adventure!Ìý
