After graduation, Matthias accepted a NRC postdoctoral fellowship at NIST in Boulder, working on projects related to聽electrochemical desalination. After spending 2 years at NIST, he moved to Argonne National Lab to be postdoctoral fellow, working on ALD for solid-state electrolytes in Li-ion batteries. He is now an Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia
