About Michael Lynn:
Since 2000, Michael Lynn has been advising undergraduates in the University of Colorado’s Department of Sociology, and is excited to join the Program in Jewish Studies team. He enjoys helping students to take a healthy, long-term approach their education as well as teaching them to “learn how to learn,” a valuable skill that can serve one for a lifetime. He also strives to connect students to opportunities and activities that will enrich their education as well as help with career development (study abroad, research, speakers/events, internships, career fairs).
Originally from Ohio, Michael attended the University of Colorado (BS Journalism; MA Political Science). Before advising he taught political science at Front Range Community College and the University of Colorado, and also worked at the University of Colorado’s Study Skills Center.
Michael’s interests include playing the piano, sports, nutrition and health, meditation, traveling, politics, comedy, photography, movies, and learning Chinese. He has visited Asia multiple times (China, Japan, Thailand). In 2011, he traveled to the Middle East to conduct CU study abroad site visits (American University - Cairo; SIT Jordan – Modernization and Social Change program). In 2013, Michael spent a week in Havana, Cuba as a volunteer assistant for a CU Global Seminar study abroad program.
Michael is ready to help you with questions about the Major or Minors in Jewish Studies, courses, graduation, internships in Jewish Studies and more!
