What is IFest?

The goal of the annual International Festival is to provide an opportunity for CU cultural groups, individuals, and Boulder community members to share their culture with the CU community. Participants represent their roots with a booth they personalize with their country or culture's local artwork, clothing, literature, games, or other decor and may provide performances and cultural activities as well!

The IFest Committee is looking for new members to help plan IFest. There are many subcommittees you can be a part of:

Booth and Performance: Organize the program and volunteers for the day of the Festival, schedule performances and coordinate the logistics of the program by ensuring that equipment, material, and individuals are at the right place at the right time; and decorate the facility on the day of the Festival.

Food: Act as a liaison between UMC Catering staff and student groups for festival food planning, including gathering national dish ideas and recipes, organizing portion sizing training, coordinating a Food Tasting event, and providing oversight during food delivery at the Festival.

Graphics: Oversee the Festival printed materials and digital advertising, make sure they are ready for the publicity campaign before the Festival (posters, fliers, etc.) and on the day of the Festival. Develop the artwork for posters, flyers, programs (the day of the festival), table tents (for the dorms and UMC Grill), advertisements, and the IFC T-shirt in a timely fashion.

Funding: Oversees the IFC and International Festival budgets, disburses funds, provides regular financial reports, maintains proper accounting, attends SOFO training for signatory authority, coordinates fundraising, applies for grants, presents to funding groups on and off campus, and ensures sponsors are acknowledged with reports post-Festival.

Web/PR: Organize and carry out the advertising and publicity for the Festival by developing and scheduling ads, writing material used to advertise the Festival, developing promotional strategies, and coordinating publicity with on-campus communication offices. Ensure that ads are ready by the time of the publicity campaign and coordinate with the Graphics Committee.

We hope to have you be a part of our team!
