These classes, designed and taught by IRISS UAS pilot and UCB Director of Flight Operations Daniel Hesselius, are for individuals seeking to fly unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) under the authority granted to UCB by the FAA. UCB students, faculty and staff who need to operate UAS as part of their work, studies or research are invited to attend.

Each session includes听two four-hour classes held one week apart. If you attend the first class in one session but are unable to attend the second class during the same session it may be possible to attend day two during a later听session. Classes must, however, be taken consecutively.

In addition to this ground school, flight training must be completed before being authorized to fly under this program.

• Session 1:听听听听听 January 12^th and 19^th, 12:30pm-4:30pm
• Session 2:听听听听听 February 21^st and 28^th, 12:30pm-4:30pm
• Session 3:听听听听听 March 23^rd and 30^th, 12:30pm-4:30pm
• Session 4:听听听听听 April 19^th and 26^th, 12:30pm-4:30pm
• Session 5:听听听听听 August 24^th and 31^st, 8:00am-12:00pm
• Session 6:听听听听听 October 16^th and 23^rd, 8:00am-12:00pm
• Session 7:听听听听听 December 5^th and 12^th, 12:30-4:30pm
