Keep up with AI developments & guidance

The CU Boulder campus has a growing number of ways for you to learn about artificial intelligence (AI) tools, find guidance for their use, attend campus-hosted AI workshops and participate in campus conversations about AI.

General campus resources & guidance

A good place to find AI resources and guidance is the VC for IT & CIO’s Artificial Intelligence at CU Boulder website. There you will find a listing of enterprise-level tools that include AI capability which have been vetted and approved by CU Boulder. Most of the tools are available to all faculty, staff and students, and all but a few are approved for use only with public data. You can also find information about the technology that powers AI tools and the university’s policies that govern and guide the use of AI tools and data.

Faculty and staff are encouraged to join campus conversations and workshops that dive into the use of AI spanning academic, research and administrative operations. The CU Boulder AI community of practice is open to faculty and staff that have interest or expertise in the field of artificial intelligence. The community of practice recently hosted an AI Showcase that was recorded and has plans to offer more townhalls, workshops and events.

Teaching & learning-focused workshops & resources

Speaking of events, the Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) and Arts & Sciences Support of Education Through Technology (ASSETT) frequently provide . The CTL also provides resources for teaching and learning the age of AI including a guide to crafting an AI syllabus statement (Word doc).

The Boulder Faculty Assembly (BFA) & CTL Working Group is currently creating sample syllabus statements across disciplines addressing AI and classroom expectations. The group began meeting in October with the goal of exploring AI guidance and best practices in the classroom and all faculty are welcome to join. If you are interested, you can learn more on the .
