Sam Freis, IBG grad student, wins Dosier/Muenzinger Award for Outstanding Contribution to Basic Research
Sam Freis’s work examines the phenotypic and genetic relationship between executive functions and other cognitive processes. She elucidates how these relate to self-regulation and psychopathology. Specifically, her major work makes use of the rich data set of the ABCD study to examine developmental questions about the similarities and differences between executive functions, general intelligence, and impulse control. To date, this research has been published in 11 peer-reviewed articles, three of which were first-authored by Sam. In addition to being an outstanding researcher, Sam is also a generous mentor and collaborator for her peers as emphasized by her mentor Naomi Friedman. Congratulations, Sam, for your impactful and intriguing contributions!
