HUMN 4010 Hitcock and Freud

Applies Freudian psychoanalysis to the films of Alfred Hitchcock. 鶹Ժ will familiarize themselves with the Freudian methodology by reading a number of books and essays and then apply both Freud’s general ideas as well as specific texts to particular aspects, both formal and contentual, of his films. Particular attention will be given to the important field of “feminism and psychoanalysis” as it relates to the study of the role of women in Hitchcock’s films.Restricted to juniors and seniors.
