4th Annual Crossdisciplinary Consortium

The Crossdisciplinary Consortium is a conference hosted by a collaboration
of University of Colorado at Boulder departments, programs, and student groups.
The Consortium is moderated by the CU Humanities Club, and is designed to
spotlight scholars from all academic institutions, at all levels, and in all
fields, including undergraduates, graduate students, junior faculty, full faculty,
and independent writers. The mission of the Consortium project is to bring together
thinkers in different areas of inquiry, with an emphasis especially on literature,
philosophy, classics & rhetoric, art & art history, visual culture & media, and
the social sciences (including questions of technology, economics, and global
contexts). We will accept original, interesting papers on any topic, in any field.
The papers in all panels accepted for the conference are also considered for
inclusion to be printed in the scholarly journal Consortium, published by CU’s
Umbrellagraph Press.

We actively encourage scholars to put together a panel and moderate it at the
conference. We also accept papers from any applicants individually and will
organize papers accepted into thematically-centered panels. The Crossdisciplinary
Consortium has a special charter to give undergraduate work equal attention with
graduate and professional work, so undergraduates are highly encouraged to apply.
For the 2011 conference, all papers–both in organized panels and submitted
individually–should be submitted to consortium@colorado.edu by March 1, 2011.
All submissions should include a 250-word abstract and a complete paper. Papers
should not exceed 15 pages. Note: writers who will not be able to attend the
conference are still welcome to submit papers to be published in the journal.
All papers should be prepared in MLA format (inline citations, no footnotes),
accompanied by a standard Works Cited list.

This year’s Consortium will be held April 22nd & 23rd.
