Upcoming Office Closures
- The HRSC will be closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 15, 2024. Please continue to send all ticket requests and questions to HRSC@colorado.edu as we will resume business on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

- FAMLI leave became available to use on 1/1/24. Please utilize the resources available on the and direct all questions to leave@cu.edu.
Department Cleanup Rosters
- Each semester, we undergo a cleanup process where we terminate positions that are no longer used. For example, we may terminate a Lecturer who had a Fall 2023 semester contract and was not reappointed for Spring 2024.
- Cleanup rosters will be sent out to supported departments in the coming weeks with instructions on what we need from you to complete the cleanup process.
Action Items
- Submit spring hiring paperwork as soon as possible.
- If a new employee needs access for the upcoming spring semester, please indicate in the ticket or spreadsheet that spring access is needed.
- Please be aware of compensation changes that may go into effect 1/1/24 or 1/8/24 and be sure to submit paperwork that reflects the updated compensation amount(s).
- Be sure to follow campus minimum wage requirements.
- Review Rosters and Payroll Registers.
- Before monthly payroll processing (1/19/24), review your rosters for any temporary pay for University Staff employees that will extend past January 1st.
- Following monthly payroll processing (1/19/24), review your rosters and registers to ensure merit increases were uploaded properly.
- Pay special attention to 9x9 and 9x12 contract amounts; especially, for those faculty that are on leave or sabbatical. These contracts are often disrupted by the mid-year pay rate change and can result in large under or overpayments.
- If you come across a pay discrepancy that requires a check pull, please notify the HRSC by noon on Friday, January 26, 2024.
- Collaborate with recruitment for any student employees who are graduating and being promoted to temporary staff. As a reminder, per compliance rules, employees should not start working in their temporary position until they have been fully hired and are in the system.
