Stay home
Sharing isn’t always caring, especially when it comes to being sick. Protect yourself and others by staying home when you aren’t feeling well. This is the best way to avoid sharing and spreading germs with your friends and classmates. If you need to miss class, be sure to reach out to your professors in advance to coordinate make-up options.
Sleep
Make sleep a priority when you aren’t feeling well. Aim to get at least 7-9 hours of sleep each night, and don’t feel bad if you need to work in a 20 minute power nap during the day. Getting in extra z’s can help support your immune system.
Stay hydrated
Illness can often cause dehydration. Be sure to drink plenty of fluids to keep your immune system going and prevent your symptoms from getting worse. Keep a water bottle by your bed and set reminders on your phone to make sure you’re drinking throughout the day. If your throat needs soothing, try drinking tea or broth as well.
