In appreciation to our Alumni and Friends for their commitment to the department, the Department of Geography hosted a celebration weekend on Saturday, June 8th and Sunday, June 9th, 2024.
Saturday began with an Open House in the much beloved home of the department, the Guggenheim building. Guests were invited to walk around the building and explore with their fellow alumni, as well as current faculty members and gradaute students. Lunch was followed by a visit to the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) for a hike lead by our faculty member, Dr. William Travis. The evening continued with a cocktail party and dinner at Chautauqua.
On Sunday, guests met up in the Guggenheim Building before going to the Mountain Reserach Station (MRS) for the day. Our guests were given an overview presentation of the Mountain Research Station by the MRS Director, Scott Taylor. Hikes were lead by our faculty, Dr. William Travis and Dr. Holly Barnard.
Thank you to all our guests for spending your weekend with us, we can't wait to do it again in the future!
