October 17th, 4:00-5:00 pm
Norlin Library’s Rare and Distinctive Collections (RaD) Room N345
Join us for a pop-up exhibit on the history of printing in Italy! Learn about how Italy became a center for printing in Renaissance Europe and produced a number of innovations in printing. You’ll be able to examine up close a variety of works printed in Italy including Renaissance copies of Dante’s Inferno; early modern guide books for touring Rome and Naples; early modern scientific texts; and medieval manuscripts. For those with a more modern taste, there will be photographs and books related to World War II. Bi-lingual English labels prepared by advanced students of Italian will make it easy to read and learn more about these fascinating texts. All are welcome!
Please contact Olga.Vasile@colorado.edu or Prof. Magnanini and Prof. Seno for additional information.
