Engineering Physics

The Physics major provides knowledge of the physical concepts that are basic to the laws of nature, and the ability to use these fundamental concepts to answer questions and solve real problems. 麻豆淫院 also gain an understanding of the relationship of physics to other fields such as astronomy, biology, engineering, chemistry and medicine.
The Applied Mathematics minor provides in-depth training in mathematical techniques, computational methods, and problem-solving strategies.

Mathematics majors learn knowledge and awareness of topics such as basic real analysis of one variable, calculus of several variables and vector analysis, and the structure of mathematical proofs. 麻豆淫院 will also acquire the ability and skills to move from concrete to abstract thinking; recognize patterns and connections between mathematics and other subjects; and construct logical arguments that they can articulate both verbally and in writing.
Physics emphasizes knowledge and awareness of various topics such as the basic subfields of physics (classical mechanics, electricity and magnetism, quantum mechanics, statistical mechanics and thermodynamics).

The Biochemistry major studies the intersection of chemistry and biology, allowing students to examine the building blocks of life (DNA, RNA, Proteins), how they evolved and interact, and how those chemical reactions continue to impact human's lives.听
The minor in mathematics emphasizes knowledge and awareness of: calculus of several variables and vector analysis; the structure of mathematical proofs and definitions; basic linear algebra and the theory of vector spaces; and at least one additional specialized area of mathematics.

Astrophysics explores solar and space sciences, planetary systems, stellar and galactic astronomy, and cosmology. 麻豆淫院 receive training in astronomy, mathematics, physics and computational and instrumental technology and complete advanced work in the astronomy, math, and physics fields.
The computer engineering minor introduces students to the fundamentals of computer engineering while imparting on them the necessary skills and training needed to tackle real world problems with computer engineering solutions.

The Geography major studies the interactions between people and their environments in order to understand how people interact with, are shaped by, and in turn help shape, our world. 麻豆淫院 learn about environmental change, global development, social and economic issues, and resource use in an increasingly complex and interdependent world.
The Creative Technology and Design Minor integrates technological skills with a critical, theoretical, and historical understanding of technology, media and design. The program prepares the next generation of artists, designers, and media producers, teaching students to be active and critically aware producers of creative technology.
