Rebecca Smith Webinar

Rebecca SmithOn Monday, February 26, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. MST, Dr. Rebecca Smith, a recent PhD graduate from CU Boulder’s Civil and Environmental Engineering department, will be presenting an online seminar titled “Exploring the Use of Multiobjective Evolutionary Algorithms (MOEAs) for Long-term Planning by Front Range, Colorado Water Managers.” She began researching this topic during her doctoral studies at CU Boulder; she focused on bridging the gap between academic applications of Multiobjective Evolutionary Algorithms (MOEAs) and the decision making needs of water utilities in their planning process.

Currently Dr. Rebecca Smith works for the Bureau of Reclamation as a civil/hydrologic engineer. In this role she coordinates research activities and contributes to technical analyses in support of Colorado River Basin planning studies. She will also be coordinating the Basin’s research and development program to investigate and project where the Colorado River will flow in the future along with decision-making frameworks.
