Professor Karen Jacobs recently published in the fall issue of . In her essay, Professor Jacobs traces the theory and practice of “geomancy”—divination or discovery by means of signs derived from the Earth. This is a tradition in which the proper relationship between humans and nature is not given, but must be earned and put into practice. Minding Nature explores and challenges ideas about who we are as humans and how we might better relate to each other and the whole community of life.
