Our Strategic Objectives (2024-2029)

The BOLD Center primarily serves undergraduate engineering students who have a BOLD or partner-affiliated scholarship and members of a BOLD affinity-based student society.Ìý

In the next five years, we will:

  • Increase the number of active BOLD students utilizing BOLD and CEAS academic support resources annually.Ìý

« BOLD will offer academic opportunities for scholarship students and active student society members to enrich the student experience and promote student success.ÌýÌý

  • Foster a greater sense of belonging for students within BOLD by year 3.ÌýÌý

«ÌýBOLD will assess student sense of inclusiveness and belonging through its scholarship programs while engaging student societies and alumni in BOLD through its programming.ÌýÌý

  • Reduce financial barriers for BOLD scholars.Ìý

«ÌýBOLD will expand scholarship opportunities to alleviate students’ financial burden and strengthen industry partnerships enhancing student success among diverse engineers.Ìý

  • Increase the number of BOLD scholars pursuing undergraduate research experiences by year 5.Ìý

«ÌýBOLD will identify, promote and incentivize research opportunities to support students’ co-curricular opportunity options.ÌýÌý

  • Continually develop leadership skills for BOLD scholars.

«ÌýBOLD will implement a leadership competency model outlining core skills and create learning opportunities through seminars, retreats and workshops that prepare students for successful careers in industry and research.ÌýÌýÌý

  • Increase internship participation rates for BOLD Scholars by year 5.Ìý

«ÌýBOLD will develop a comprehensive internship support program for second to fourth-year students and host networking events for BOLD students to connect with industry organizations.ÌýÌý

  • Improved second-fall retention and 6-year graduation rates of BOLD scholars by year 5.Ìý

«ÌýBOLD will address retention barriers for underrepresented engineering students through data-driven interventions and academic support in core mathematics courses to tackle systemic inequities.Ìý

  • Create and experience an equitable and inclusive working culture among professional staff by year 5.
