Graduate Certificate Admissions
Deadlines
Applications received before the deadline will be considered a priority and reviewed first, however we will accept applications after the deadline.
Summer Application Open & Close Dates: February 1 - May 20
Fall Application Open & Close Dates: April 1 - August 20
Spring Application Open & Close Dates: September 1 - January 5
You will receive an email regarding your admission decision within a few weeks after completing your application.
Admissions Criteria
- An undergraduate degree in any academic field from a regionally accredited institution.
- An undergraduate grade point average of at least 2.75.
Application Requirements
If you are not a current CU graduate student and seeking a certificate only, complete through Continuing Education and upload the following items via the online application:
- Current Professional Resume
- Unofficial Transcripts (International applicants must submit documentation demonstrating the equivalency of a 3.0.)
- English Proficiency
- All international applicants are required to meet a minimum standard of English proficiency. This requirement can be met if:
- You are a citizen of a country listed on the “TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo Not Required for Citizens of these Countries” table below, or
- You have completed at least one year of full-time study at a U.S. institution (or at an institution in a country listed on the “TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo Not Required for Citizens of these Countries” table below) at the time you apply, and within two years from your desired admission term. Enrollment in an English language program, including within the USA, does not fulfill this requirement. This can be confirmed by your transcripts.
- You take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and receive a score of 102 or higher, the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and receive a score of 7.5 or higher or the Duolingo and receive a score of 125 or higher. These are the minimum scores we require, applicants with lower scores will not be admitted. Official test scores are only valid for two years from the date of taking the test. For a list of countries that scores are not required please see the International Admissions webpage. Please note that applicants from India will be required to provide this for Engineering Management. The institution code is 4841. You do not need to supply a department code.
If you are a current CU Boulder graduate student (in a degree program or just taking classes) or a current CU employee, complete this online application and upload the following items via the online application:
- Current Professional Resume
- Unofficial Transcripts
- In addition to the above items, upload the following if you are applying to the CU Employee Leadership and Management Certificate:
- Cover Letter
- Signed recommendation letter from your direct supervisor that explicitly states support of participation in this program, including using work time to take classes (if applicable) and department payment of fees and books. CU employees should review the complete .
