Melinda Piket-May receives Faculty Service award

Professor Melinda Piket-May received the College of Engineering and Applied Science 2023 MaxS. Peters Faculty Service award.

Throughout her 30-year career at the CU Boulder, Piket-May has been heavily involved in service to the Department of Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering, college, campus and the State of Colorado.

“I am humbly honored to receive this service award,” said Piket-May. “I thoroughly enjoy service and work hard at having a positive impact across different communities.”

Pikey-May’s service commitment to advancing higher education helped foster strong relationships among those within the University of Colorado system, as well as beyond the university with involvement in national and international professional councils and committees.

Currently, she serves as the faculty advisor to the Colorado Commission on Higher Education as part of her statewide outreach efforts.

Piket-May has held numerous campus-wide service leadership positions, including the role of interim associate vice-chancellor of research, chair of the CU-system faculty council and chair of the Boulder Faculty Assembly.

Over the years, she has served on international administrative councils for the IEEE APS Society, IEEE Education Society, Applied Computational EM Society and the International Union of Radio Science and served as associate editor for IEEE Microwave and Wireless Components Letters and IEEE APS Journal.
