Shanghai, China, is home toRyan McMunn(Mktg’02). He is general manager at Tricam Industries, a company his father started that manufactures household step stools as well as lawn and garden carts. The company supplies The Home Depot, Lowe’s, Menards, Walmart and Costco. Ryan writes he has designed and implemented operating procedures using the knowledge he gained at CU.

Big dreams remained strong for skierKelley McMillan(Anth’02) who took classes, read books, hired guides and trained to ski Wyoming’s Grand Teton. Kelley was first inspired to climb and ski Grand Teton after seeing a photo of her uncle atop the 13,770-foot peak. According to an April article inThe Denver Post, Kelley and her guide planned to ski the Grand in May and if successful “it will be the first female-guided, female-client descent of this ski mountaineering classic.”

U.S. paratriathleteMelissa Hoffman Stockwell(Comm’02) won a gold medal, helping the Americans win the overall medal count at the ITU Paratriathlon World Championship in Auckland, New Zealand. The paratriathlon was a 300-meter swim, 20K bike and a 5K run which Melissa finished with a time of 1:22:14. This was her third consecutive world title. Melissa lives in Chicago. She lost part of her leg while serving in Iraq in 2004.

Former CU football playerJoe Garten(Soc’02) was part of the 2012 Colorado Athletic Hall of Fame Induction Class and received recognition at the ceremony in November. He was one of the first three unanimous All-Americans in CU history and was a consensus first-team All-American as a junior and a two-time unanimous first-team All-Big Eight performer as a junior and senior. Joe was runner-up for the Outland Trophy and holds the school record for the most starts by an offensive player. Joe resides in Yorba Linda, Calif.

Seana Lowe Steffen(PhDSoc’02) is director of the Restorative Leadership Institute, which offers strategic consulting and capacity building to clients from California to Senegal. Last November the nonprofit organization B Lab honored Seana’s and RLI’s work as “Best for Communities.” Seana is a former member of the CU-Boulder faculty and founding director of the CU INVST Community Studies program, which develops students into engaged citizens and leaders who work for the benefit of humanity and the environment. She lives in Longmont, Colo.
