Dinner with 12 Buffs
Last spring Dynelle Tadlock (Comm,听Psych鈥�93; Law鈥�96) welcomed 12 CU-Boulder听students into her Boulder home for听dinner, all strangers to each other at first.听They feasted on tacos and burritos, talked up their听favorite places to eat and play in the city and swapped stories about CU.
Tadlock, an attorney for the U.S. Postal Service and an early stalwart of an Alumni Association program听called Dinner with 12 Buffs, will open her home again in April, this time to a new group of students, and she hopes to host a dinner for CU alumni after she moves to San Diego in May.
鈥淚 think everyone should do this,鈥� she says of the听program, which connects students and young alumni with fellow Buffs near them. 鈥淚 loved seeing the genius of the young Buffs.鈥�
More alumni are doing it, too: This April 8 to 10听the event is going national 鈥� Buffs will gather in听the Washington, D.C.-area home of Brian Cowan听(Mktg鈥�79), president of management consulting firm Cowan & Associates, and in Simi Valley, Calif., with Lisa Ayala-Williams (Mktg鈥�86), an executive at Walt Disney Studios.
鈥淒inner with 12 Buffs allows for alumni to give听back to their university,鈥� says program facilitator听Dawn Barone (Hist, Psych鈥�09). 鈥淚t鈥檚 a time for them to learn about the student experience today and to share their experience as a Buff with others.鈥�

During the听first听annual Buffs Give Back Day on听May 22, you and the Buffs in your city听have the opportunity to mingle as you tackle a local听service project.
