Globe-trotting bridge builder Avery Bang (MCivEngr’09) immersed herself in all things CU-Boulder at Homecoming Weekend 2014. She’s ready to do it again.
“Seeing friends, old and new, who return to campus for homecoming is always one of my favorite weekends in Boulder,” says Bang, last year’s winner of the and founder of , which builds footbridges in isolated communities worldwide.
Bang returns for Homecoming Weekend 2015, Oct. 15-18, this time to cheer on other inspirational Buffs, such as fellow engineer Evan Thomas (Aero, Jour, MAero’06, PhD’09), a new winner.
New at Homecoming this year is a craft beer tasting and barbecue at the . Also, the student-run homecoming parade will move to Pearl Street from University Hill. And the annual will take place in the renovated Glenn Miller Ballroom at the .
“Homecoming is always a special time for all Buffs to come back to Boulder,” says CU Athletic Director Rick George. “We are really excited about this year’s weekend with some of the changes, like the homecoming parade being a part of our Friday night Stampede on Pearl Street. And of course, we have a great matchup on the football field as we take on last year’s Pac-12 South champions, Arizona.”
