A difficult early-season schedule for the soccer team resulted in five losses before the official end of summer, but it bolstered the Buffs for a fast start in Big 12 Conference play.
CU won its first four conference games and didn’t allow a goal in the first three.
“Our nonconference games were really difficult this year but so far that has helped us tremendously with league play,” says Bill Hempen, who recorded his 100th victory as CU coach in early October.
In a home victory over Oklahoma, senior Nikki Marshall tied her own single-game CU goals record, scoring four times. Earlier in the season against St. Mary’s, Marshall scored the quickest goal in program history 23 seconds into the game. Marshall is the Buffs’ all-time scoring leader.
