Linda Shoemaker (Jour’69) worked as a newspaper journalist and a business attorney, and for the past twenty years, her work has been public service, particularly promoting social justice and improving access to quality public education in Colorado. From 2015 to 2021, she served on the University of Colorado Board of Regents representing the Second Congressional District, which includes CU’s flagship campus in Boulder. She has also served as president of the Boulder Valley School Board. Currently, she is president of the Brett Family Foundation, which she founded with her husband, Steve Brett. She lives in Boulder, volunteers for the NAACP of Boulder County and enjoys hiking, biking and her grandchildren.
