Melinda Kiger Cheval is a teaching associate professorÌýin APRD and director of the Communication & Society Residential Program, a living-learning community for students broadly interested in communication, media, journalism and related themes.
During her professional career as an agency executive in New York City, Cheval worked for a number of global advertising networks, including Ogilvy & Mather where she was a senior partner and associate media director. Since joining the University of Colorado faculty, she has created a number of programs designed to bring together industry, faculty and students. In 2006, she designed the advertising a2b certificate program. Advertising a2b brings more than 20 advertising and creative professionals to CU Boulder each spring. In 2009 she launched the Innovators Series (now the Robbs Idea Series) designed to bring key industry professionals to the CU campus. In 2013, she developed the Cultural Caffeine Series designed to bring successful advertising, public relations and design alumni back to campus for lectures and workshops with faculty and students.
