Communication

Emma Meyer is a senior business student with a communication minor. For her Communication, Culture and Sport class, she created a magazine spread called Vegan Triumphs.

While not a vegan herself, Meyer was drawn to the topic of vegan athletes because of the debate around the dietary choice. She said it was interesting to investigate the intersection between sports and nutrition—especially within a vegan context—because she found data to be scarce. Meyer looked into the historic roots of vegan athletes, including gladiators, as well as modern examples like Alex Morgan (USA Soccer) and Chris Paul (Golden State Warriors).
