Graduate students present research at annual on-campus symposium

Graduate students presented their research at the Student Annual Research Symposium (StARS) at the Jennie Smoly Caruthers Biotechnology Building earlier this month. They presented their research into materials, biotechnology and energy and catalysis to fellow students, faculty and alumni of the Chemical and Biological Engineering Department.

The event serves to highlight the incredible work and research undertaken by CU Boulder graduate students in chemical and biological engineering fields and gives presenters and attendees the opportunity to interact with and learn from one another in a familiar and friendly environment.

Thirteen students presented throughout the day on topics ranging from thermochemical hydrogen production, to better understanding optical properties of nanocrystals, to combating drug-resistant bacteria with better antibiotic design.

This was the 17th year of the symposium.
