Dan Schwartz Named an ACS Fellow
The American Chemical Society has named ChBE Department ChairÌýDan SchwartzÌýaÌý2014 ACS Fellow.
Professor Schwartz is being recognized for hisÌýleadership in the Division of Colloid and Surface Chemistry; service as a Senior Editor ofÌýLangmuir; ACS symposium organization; and innovative research developing and applying advanced microscopy methods. These microscopy methods, including single-molecule tracking, have advanced the fundamental understanding of the interfacial dynamics and self-assembly of surfactants and biomolecules.
The ACS Fellows Program was created by the ACS Board of Directors in December 2008 to recognize members of the ACS for outstanding achievements in and contributions to science, the profession, and the Society.
The 2014 ACS Fellows will be inducted at the 248th ACS National Meeting this coming August in San Francisco, CA.
