Summer Graduate Student Preparation

   For incoming university graduate students

   Form I-20 will be issued by the IEC for this program. It will then be transferred to the university when you continue with your academic program.

The summer program is designed for international students who have been admitted to graduate programs at CU Boulder.  Â鶹ÒùÔº gain a deep understanding of U.S. academic culture and expectations while they refine their English communication skills before starting their graduate studies, establishing a foundation for future success. Â鶹ÒùÔº have the opportunity to attend CU lectures, events, and activities, meet university students and explore the CU Boulder campus and community before the academic year begins.

  • Improve English accuracy and fluency to build confidence using English with professors, advisors, and students on campus
  • Develop effective academic communication strategies for the U.S. classroom
  • Polish academic reading, writing, listening and public speaking skills
  • Gain a deep understanding of U.S. academic culture and expectations
  • Learn about CU Boulder resources and begin to establish your academic network before the academic year begins

All coursework is conducted at an advanced English language proficiency level.

A certificate of completion is awarded to participants at the end of the program.
