Research Interests:ÌýI'm interested in many topics, but a couple of the most fascinating would have to be sensory substitution & augmentation and the related concepts of extended & embodied cognition. I've thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful opportunities I've had to create multiple sensory "extension" prototypes, ultimately intended to augment user perception, here at CU. The research being carried out at CUChange also greatly interests me, specifically aspects of mindfulness, alcohol abuse/relapseÌýprevention, and a deeper scientific understanding of medical & recreational cannabis usage.

About Me:ÌýI was somewhat of a non-traditional undergraduate student. My 8-year stint as an army helicopter pilot (along with all the accompanying experiences) and the fact that I moved a lot as a kid radically changed my worldview and undoubtedly helped me meaningfully engage with scientific and philosophical education. In myÌýextracurricularÌýspare time, I love to garden - in & outdoors (cultivation, in general, soothes my soul), cook/bake, mountain bike, travel (including as much camping as possible), and listen to recorded & live music. In sum, I like to continuously let mother nature amaze me (which is exceedingly easy to do). I'm lucky enough to do most of these things with my beautiful bride, Kate and our two furbabies (canine variety), Rupert & Izzy.
