The Institute for Shipboard Education (ISE) seeks faculty candidates for the position of C.Y. Tung Program professor for upcoming voyages of Semester at Sea.

Most urgently, we are seeking a professor for that we hope to hire as soon as possible. We are also hiring for future voyages, starting with .Ìý
We are seeking a scholar in US-China relations, PhD preferred, in Political Science, History, or other related field, and who has experience and passion for teaching undergraduate students.

Semester at Sea (SAS) is a long-established comparative global education program operated by ISE with the collaboration of its academic partner, Colorado State University. Our classrooms are on a ship and the learning continues in the countries we visit. The typical semester voyage has a duration of 108 days, visits 10 to 12 countries on multiple continents, and carries around 550 student voyagers plus faculty, staff and others. There are provisions for bringing a companion and dependent children (2-18 or college students). (see attached Voyage Companion Policy).
The C.Y. Tung program in Sino-US relations is supported by the Hong Kong based family of C.Y. Tung, one of the founders of the Semester at Sea program. It seeks to promote understanding and improvement of relations between China and the United States, through the SAS academic program on voyages that visit China. The program sponsors scholarships for 10 or more students per voyage, as well as sponsoring one faculty position focused on Sino-US relations.
