If you have visited campus lately, you have likely seen the incredible progress that is underway with the Business and Engineering building expansion. The physical connector between the two schools is now in place—a landmark achievement in this process—and the project is on schedule and on budget for opening in spring 2021. Currently, construction on the Engineering Auditorium and lower level Business classrooms is in progress.
Leeds has also been gaining substantive momentum in the co-curricular aspects of the partnership with Engineering. This October Leeds will host a new Phillips 66 Business and Engineering Diversity Case Challenge that highlights the Leeds and Engineering students’ interdisciplinary collaboration. The competition will combine students’ unique strengths in solving a challenging case question and presenting their solutions to judges together.
In addition, Leeds has secured initial funding for a Women + Business + Engineering program, which will include scholarships and programming for women interested in the intersection of business and engineering. This is an exciting step in our efforts to attract top students for our fall 2020 incoming undergraduate class.
