MBA Blog tailgateJuggling a full-time MBA program, family, social activities, and part-time jobs can be difficult. One way students can succeed is by mastering the art of multitasking. For example, one group of students in this fall’s Marketing Communications class strategically chose to partner with Boulder-based outdoor brand, Kelty. Part of the class project is to create an internal marketing communications plan for the partner company. Kelty has really awesome gear, but low brand awareness within our cohort. We decided to combine our fall MBA Tailgating event with our class project and set up an experiential marketing campaign for Kelty.

MBA Blog tailgateWe worked with the marketing team at Kelty to borrow gear that made sense to use at a tailgate, and then coordinated the MBA side with our cohort. Kelty donated a bunch of amazing gear for us to raffle off, and had their Senior Graphic Designer there to take photos. We even experimented with a custom Snapchat filter for the event, and were able to report impressive results for our very low budget. Class projects are a lot more fun when you’re passionate about the company you’re working with, learning new skill sets, and having fun with friends—there are ways to create win-win situations for all involved. #skobuffs #keltybuilt
