Laura is a graduate of the University of Colorado Denver with a bachelor’s degree, double emphasis in Sociology and Communication, a master’s degree in communication, and a Graduate Certificate in Teaching English Language Learners.Ìý Her experience as a first-generation Latina college student ignited her dedication to this profession and the empowerment of students. ÌýBefore joining Leeds, she worked as an Academic Learning Specialist and English Speakers of Other Languages Coordinator in the Learning Resources Center at CU Denver. Previously, she was a Student Intervention Services Coordinator at Metropolitan State University of Denver. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, cooking and quality time with her husband and children.
