Undergraduate Initiatives
A Commitment to Action
In the Leeds undergraduate program, we support academic and career success for every student. We have an innovative and structured curriculum that provides a clear path of progress toward on-time graduation.
It’s one thing to support every student we have. It’s another thing to make sure that people of all identities are aware of the benefits of a business education. A business education can be a launching pad for traditional business paths like work in financial services or marketing agencies, but it can also be the basis for non-profit leadership or interdisciplinary work at small companies. Our equitable recruitment initiatives are designed to attract students from all backgrounds with the message that there is not just one way to use your business education. Our intensive support programs help everyone be successful at Leeds.
Below we highlight examples of this engagement around diversity and inclusion: the work of our Office of Diversity Affairs and our Career Development Office and the role that special programs and other resources have played in our End the Gap gender equity initiative.
The Office of Diversity Affairs supports an inclusive learning environment for diverse undergraduates at the Leeds School of Business. The office focuses on the recruitment, retention and graduation of underrepresented students.
The Leeds Career Development Office has a group of dedicated professional staff who help every student along their personalized career journey. Â鶹ÒùÔº can meet one-on-one with a career coach or can attend events with employers hosted at Leeds throughout the school year.
Incoming students can join cohorts in our or our program. These two programs give students an opportunity to meet classmates committed to the professional advancement of women. The programs have been instrumental in our End the Gap gender equity initiative.
Mentorship is proven to significantly improve professional, personal and learning experiences for all students. The integration of multiple mentoring programs throughout the four-year experience provides Leeds students with peer and professional connections, personalized support through career exploration, and professional skills development.
Student organizations & clubs provide a wealth of opportunity to engage people of all backgrounds, interests, and professional experiences. We have organizations that align with academic areas, like Scholars of Finance, CU American Marketing Association, and Beta Alpha Psi (for accounting, finance, and information management students). We have organizations that align with industries, like Leeds Consulting Group or the Music Industry Club. We have organizations devoted to service and leadership, like Leeds Student Government. And we have clubs that support students’ identities, like the Multicultural Business Student Association.
