ATLAS Institute

By combining music, technology, and neuroscience,ÌýThiagoÌýRossi Roque is investigating the phenomenon of neural entrainment in musical settings to better understand social interaction and empathy. His research interests span from embodied cognition to the sonification of physiological signals, synchronous neuroimaging techniques, and new interfaces for musical expression.ÌýThiagoÌýreceived both his B.S. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering with a concentration on Music Technology and Digital Signal Processing from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP), in Brazil, and studied Music Composition for 3 years at the same institution. After working in the electronic and automation industry for more than 8 years,ÌýThiagoÌýreceived a Fulbright Scholarship to pursue his Ph.D. at the Brain Music Lab, advised by Professor Grace Leslie.
