ATLAS Institute Outstanding Undergraduate Student Awards
Torshawna Chew
This spring, Torshawna Chew will graduate magna cum laude with a CTD Major. Throughout her time here, she has demonstrated exceptional achievement, leadership, and community engagement. Torsh has served as a learning assistant for courses in the undergraduate major, including Text, focusing on graphic design, as well as Form or 3D modeling. She is patient, thoughtful, and adept at helping students and peers navigate the course curriculum and project assignments. She’s been an ambassador for the CTD program and shares her experience as a CU student and her enthusiasm about the program with prospective students in presentations and building tours. Torsh’s engagement with the ATLAS community also includes working as a research assistant in the ACME Lab and projects that further her interest in Ìýdesigning interfaces and well-designed 3D models.
Max Epperson
Max Epperson graduates summa cum laude with a CTD Major, as well as a minor in Art & Art History. He exemplifies the heart and soul of the ATLAS program. Max is a highly motivated student whose work consistently demonstrates high capability and creativity. His work and extracurricular pursuits synthesize art, design and tech fields in unique and thought-provoking ways. Max’ senior project, How To Make A Golem, is a multimedia art installation blending video, AR, 3D scanning, and printmaking. The work is described by his professors as elevating the level of excellence for this year’s projects. Finally, Max has demonstrated outstanding academic performance, while also being collaborative with classmates and peers.
Cay Kennedy
Cay Kennedy graduates from CU with a CTD Major, as well as minors in Computer Science, Space, and Film and Television Production. Cay is being recognized for her contributions to the ATLAS community. She has served as a CTD program ambassador leading information sessions and sharing her experience as an engineering undergraduate with prospective students. Cay has demonstrated outstanding professionalism and engagement serving as a learning assistant leading core courses in the CTD major, assisting students, delivering curriculum and offering supplemental workshops. Cay is also the recipient of the Academic Engagement Award from the College of Engineering.Ìý
Jack ManningÌý
During his time as an undergraduate student in the CTD program, Jack has demonstrated leadership and initiative, participating not only in the academic side of ATLAS, but also contributing to research and developing new knowledge. Jack has shared his coding and web skills and experience with the curriculum by serving as a learning assistant, teaching and offering student support in both Web and Computational Foundations courses. Jack has also worked with faculty who conduct research at the intersection of technology and human experience and has contributed to papers and research presentations. Additionally, as a student ambassador, Jack has supported our recruiting program and enthusiastically shares his experience as a CTD major student with prospective students. Jack is described as a well-respected and collaborative team member and his projects are high caliber, often rising to grad level work. Jack is also the recipient of the Academic Engagement Award from the College of Engineering. Ìý Ìý
