Do you have transfer credit that you need to have evaluated?
Here is how to get started:
Make sure you have requested that an official transcript with final grades be sent from your previous schools to the CU Office of Admissions, and check that the courses are showing up on the “Transfer Evaluation” tab of your degree audit.
Courses that have not yet been reviewed will have an NR (needs review) iflag next to them. Courses that require more information than the course description provides will have a notation that says “NEED SYLLABUS” or they will have an SY or 8SY (syllabus required) iflag next to them. All other courses have already been reviewed for transferability and applicability to all Arts and Sciences general education requirements.

Courses taken on an approved CU-Boulder education abroad program may be submitted to the CU education abroad office for review towards .
Courses taken on an approved CU-Boulder education abroad program that you would like to be reviewed for should be submitted to your academic advisor for the relevant major, minor or certificate.

If you choose to on a program that is not approved by CU-Boulder, the process varies by school/college.
- A&S and CMCI students are unable to submit course or program information for transfer approval until after the program is complete. Courses will be reviewed upon your return and only after the CU admissions office has received an official transcript from your program.
- 鶹Ժ in all other CU schools/colleges can submit courses for review prior to departure and can access the relevant forms and instructions after for your non-approved study abroad program.
If you would like a course you took at another institution to be reviewed for applicability to an Arts and Sciences major, minor or a CU certificate, consult with your academic advisor for the relevant major, minor or certificate. (*Except for computer science courses—see "Non-Arts and Sciences Courses" below).
This same process should be followed for taken on an approved CU-Boulder education abroad program.
For review of courses with non-Arts and Sciences content (business, education, music, communication, journalism web design, architecture or environmental design), please submit syllabi to TChelp@colorado.edu. *Important note: All computer science courses, even for CSCI-BA majors in the College of Arts and Sciences, should be submitted to CEAS Transfer Credit Review Form Please attach a course syllabus with a weekly schedule of topics to your email. In addition, please include a link to the transferring institution’s computer science degree requirements website which shows the course numbers, title, and sequencing of computer science courses.
For review of courses with Arts and Sciences content (anthropology, studio art and art history, astrophysical and planetary science, atmospheric and oceanic sciences, biological sciences, chemistry and biochemistry, classics, cultural and language studies, dance, English writing and literature, economics, environmental studies, ethnic studies, film, foreign language, gender studies, geography, geology, history, humanities, international affairs, mathematics and applied mathematics, philosophy, physics, political science, psychology and neuroscience, religious studies, sociology, speech and hearing sciences, or theater), click on the button below to access the online Transfer Credit Review Request.
*Important note: All computer science courses should be submitted to CEAS Transfer Credit Review Form even for CSCI-BA majors in the College of Arts and Sciences.
This form and the courses that you submit will be reviewed for transferability and applicability to degree requirements. Detailed information about this process is provided on the form – read it carefully.
A syllabus will need to be submitted for all courses with the 8SY iflag or courses marked NEED SYLLABUS. The syllabus must be from the semester that the course was taken and contain the name of the institution, instructor information, textbook/assigned readings, evaluation/assessment criteria, meeting times and location and a list of course objectives/topics covered. If the course you took was taught at a high school for concurrent college credit, the syllabus must be from the high school course taken.

You may request that courses be reviewed for transferability and applicability to degree requirements before you take them. We recommend this if you are hoping to fulfill a CU Boulder graduation requirement with a course taken at another institution. Not all courses will transfer as you think they should, so plan ahead using the process explained below.
