Seminar: Shaping Space Policy - U.S. & International Perspectives - April 28

Scott Pace

Future Insights Seminar
with Scott Pace, Former Executive Secretary of the National Space Council
Wednesday, April 28 | 4-5:30 p.m.
Zoom Webinar

Abstract: Space and space technologies are developing at a pace that hasn’t been seen in decades.Ìý Much of this recent growth stems from the latest decisions made by the U.S. government to restart the National Space Council, to invest in the commercial industry, to stand up a U.S. Space Force and to begin to take a whole of government approach to our national space policy and global place in space.

At the core of many of these decisions was Dr. Scott Pace in his role as the Executive Secretary of the National Space Council from 2017-2021.Ìý Join Mark Sirangelo as he welcomes Dr. Pace to CU for the first time in a unique discussion on how government space works, how some of these groundbreaking decisions were evaluated and made and what Scott’s views are on the future of space and technology.

The seminar, discussion and Q&A will explore Dr. Pace’s view on space as it relates to:

  • Perspectives from his recent space policy experience at the White House
  • Products from the National Space Council and a historical context
  • Integrating economic, security, and diplomatic interests in U.S. space activities
  • Emerging space policy challenges for the United State, domestically and internationally
